Program Manager (AIMS)

Description:Responsible for overseeing daily activities and evaluating the success of the program. Collaborates with community partners and community coalitions that work towards promoting awareness and prevention of Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Organizes community wide SUD prevention and education activities. Serves as a liaison between Gateway’s medical providers and the program; assures compliance by program with the overall rules and regulations under which the Center operates.

Works with Department Director to maintain a quality program that promotes patient centered planning and appropriate practices; assures that personnel conform to the Center’s Personnel and Operations Policies and Procedures, e.g., reporting to work on time and/or reporting their absences in a timely manner.
Duties:• Assist Department Director on ensuring the implementation of program goals, objectives, and standard operating policies and procedures.
• Assures and evaluates that the supervision of all employees is adequate in collaboration with department Director.
• Trains health educators on program implementation strategies and guidelines, SUD educational presentations and AIMS for Health curriculum.
• Responsible for the coordination of the yearly Take Back event.
• Coordinates and conducts SUD sessions.
• Develops educational curriculums and/ or materials.
• Assist the Director of Health Education Department and Training with departmental activities, including preparation and submission of monthly/quarterly reports.
• Collaborate with community organizations, Health Promotion staff, and volunteers to facilitate effective SUD prevention outreach activities and referrals to SUD programming and other social services.
• Assist Department Director with trainings and its coordination.
• Responsible for developing, selecting, and distributing culturally sensitive education materials and other media based on SUD.
• Responsible of maintaining internal supplies available.
• Assures that all new employees are given an updated, specific job description and that the same are discussed in a timely manner in conjunction with Department Director.
• Assures that all new employees attend required orientation and/or training session(s).
• Assures that all employees maintain updated program protocols.
• Assists Department Director in interviewing candidates for vacant positions under his/her supervision.
• Assists staff with minor computer problems and reports problems to IT staff when necessary.
• Monitors daily attendance for all program staff for accuracy and assures that reports are forwarded to the appropriate office on predetermined dates.
• Occasional domestic travel for conferences and meeting
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrates time-management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.
• Demonstrates project-management skills, including the ability to think strategically, manage multiple priorities, adjust to changing circumstances, resolve problems, and organizes time efficiently.
• Ability to work professionally with an emphasis on excellence and teamwork.
• Strong ability to write and assist in the developing of program policies and procedures.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in health sciences/social services/mental health or related field and related work experience preferred.
• Three (3) years of experience working with different group populations.
• Knowledge of SUD interventions and community resources.
• Two (2) years of experience in group facilitation ad coordination of educational sessions.
• One or more years of experience in supervising or coordinating programs required.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Means of transportation with a current valid Texas driver’s license and minimum liability insurance.
